HopeLabs is an international collaboration of passionate individuals dedicated to making limb prosthetics widely available, enhancing the quality of life for countless people.
The World Health Organization estimates that 30 million people need prosthetic and orthotic devices. 1 in 10 amputees are unable to obtain a prosthesis due to financial difficulty.
To do this, we are trying to reduce the cost and speed up the production of prostheses by at least ten times compared to analogues and provide higher functionality through additional replaceable attachments.
Cost-effective prosthetic limbs
Our range of active traction prostheses for the upper extremity caters to various amputation levels, including forequarter, shoulder disarticulation, transhumeral, elbow disarticulation, transradial, wrist disarticulation, full hand, partial hand, finger, and partial finger.
Specifically, a transradial prosthesis serves as a replacement for an arm amputated below the elbow. For lower extremity replacements, we offer prostheses suitable for different amputation levels: hip disarticulation, transfemoral, knee disarticulation, transtibial, Syme’s amputation, as well as for foot, partial foot, and toe amputations.
We use advanced generative AI to enhance our designs, reducing weight while increasing strength.
Modular solutions for UNICEF and the Red Cross
Upon conducting an in-depth evaluation of analogues, we succeeded in distinguishing between fixed and customizable components of prosthetics.
This research led us to developvarious standard modular parts sizes and fabricate unique units explicitly tailored to individual limb measurements.
Thanks to this technology, we could significantly speed up and reduce the cost of manufacturing prosthetics and carry out bulk orders from organizations such as UNICEF, the RED CROSS, and prosthetics centers by producing standardized size lines.
Upgrade with a wide range of attachments
Our prostheses, made from solid and durable materials, still require periodic replacement to accommodate limb growth over time. Since our prostheses are modular and we maintain records of all parts for each prosthesis we make, the user does not need to buy a whole new prosthesis but only one part of it, which we modify according to the new size.
Modularity makes it possible to consider personal wishes, such as changing parts in different colors and adding nodes with the ability to fix a wide range of gadgets to the prosthesis. For example, a prosthetic arm can be a holder for a mobile phone, a flashlight, and many other options. The prosthetic index finger, designed to be removable and magnetic, can be easily swapped out for various tools such as a screwdriver, laser pointer, pencil, penknife and other tools. Decorative overlays, accompanied by a selection of tool sets, can be attached to the prosthetic leg for added functionality and style.
Durable and safe materials
Conventional 3D printing materials cannot withstand high temperatures and are not durable. We use the most modern water- and chemical-resistant, hypoallergenic and bactericidal materials with strength comparable to metals, with operating temperatures up to 140 degrees Celsius.
New fast 3D printing technologies
Our 3D printer farm contains high-speed, high-precision industrial machines using FDM and SLS 3D printing technologies with current productivity of up to 300 prostheses per month. In addition, we use unique in-house designed equipment for post-processing of the prosthesis.
Manufacturing of prosthetics for pets
In addition to helping people, we try to make life easier for our loyal friends who cannot solve their mobility problems independently. We also produce individually designed prosthetics for animals.
